I wanted to log on saturday to write about my "gramma". But with the entire weekend being one of those "reflection" weekends...I couldn't pull myself together long enough to do so.
They died less than 24hours apart. Neither ever getting a chance to know that the other one past. Grandad on the 25th...Gramma on the 26th. My gramma was so special to me. I didn't see her much. Holidays mostly. She lived fairly far away....but stayed close to my heart. I could always count on her to have a big hug and smile waiting for me. No matter what I did...gramma was proud. Always the first to wish me a happy birthday. Always last to get mad. I wrote about her last year too. (here) I love you gramma. muah.

Reflecting on a life well lived...
I know that I said my next post would begin with a full pic of me and my car...but haven't even taken that pic yet. I'll post it soon though.
It's been 2 years today since my grandfather passed. I wrote about it last year (here) and if i'm still blogging next year, I'll write about it then too. I miss him. dearly.
I thought that I'd have more to say about him....or about how i feel...or something. Actually I do have alot to say about it. I wanted to write down some memories I have of him...but as I sit here and reminisce...I realize that I would rather just keep those sacred times in the thoughts in my mind. A smile comes to my face every time I think of something he'd say...or do. He was definitely a happy man. And though I wish that he was still here, I know we'll meet again one day. I'm thankful that life is eternal. Death is not the period in a sentence, it's the comma.
...I'll leave it at that. Love you Grandaddy. R.I.P.

The Picture Project... FINALLY!!! lol.
Well...I'm FINALLY FINISHED!! (well not really, but i figured if i haven't taken a pic of it in 3 weeks then it just wasn't gonna get taken)
For the most part...i tried to take as many of the pics that you all suggested as possible...however, some I just couldn't seem to get. But nevertheless...this was a fun (and very long) project. lol. Thanks you all!! Now...it took me all day! Yes...i've been working on it since this morning!!! So PLEASE look at them all. :) Okay here goes...

I couldn't get the full picture of my "officle" because of the weird shape of it. My desk pretty much wraps around me and I have a sliding door that closes me in...but i couldn't get it all. Anywho...this is close enough. lol
and here is where the magic happens. lol. my laptop...my radio...my phone...and that's all i need to get through my workday. lol.
2. a picture of your favorite thing to eat
Well...I couldn't get this because taking pictures was the LAST thing on my mind when eating my favorite dish...lol. But let's compromise.
How's that?? lol. The stuffed chicken marsala and this (stuffed shells w/shrimp) from Olive Garden are my 2 FAVORITE foods. *mouth watering already* Well I know what's for dinner tonight! lol
3. a picture of your fave part of the gift Tease au Chocolat gave you
Well initially, I was gonna take a pic of all of his "gift 2" But I had everything in different places, so I figured that I'd just take a pic of one of the things in the box from gift 2. You may can't see it that good...but this is his drawing of a very nice artwork we saw one day at Stonecrest Mall which I loved but couldn't dish out $200 for. He drew it and made a nice frame for it. It's called "The Kiss". This gift had the most thought & work behind it in my book. Thus claiming the status of "favorite gift". Unfortunately, this picture doesn't do the actual drawing ANY justice. It's really beautiful in person.

Here's my junky bedroom. It's all bubbly and flowery. I guess that's me 90% of the time. lol. The other 10% of the time, I have the red wine colored satin sheets on. I guess that's the other more....sensual/siddidy/mature side of me. lol. But shoot...I be slippin and sliding everywhere on those satin sheets. lol Jersey sheets are much better in the winter. hahaha
Notice my intruments on the side of my bed.lol. So at any given time when I'm chatting on the phone with you...I can just annoy the mess outta you with my non-guitar playing self. lol

This is a spot on emory's campus called "the quad". I love being here when the weather's nice. It's across from my job and whenever I just want to get away and do some thinking...i come here.

Okay... aside from the cleavage BURSTING out of the dress..(sorry about that) This really is one of my favorite items of clothing. You may can't see it that well...but the material is so comfortable and it falls beautifully. Aaaannnywhooo....

This is called the "sleepy chair" in my house. lol. It's the best! I curl up in it..and read a book...look out the window...or watch tv and with in 10 min of doing either of them...i'm KNOCKED OUT!

Yup...traffic. I sit in about 3 hours worth of traffic. Erryday! It's amazing i'm still sane....sorta. lol

Um...honestly. My house is my favorite place here. lol. The second would be The Fox Theatre..which I was at saturday for the Alvin Ailey Dance thing..and tried to take a pic of...but it was too dark. :( So sorry Golden.

Why is this my favorite street sign you ask? Well...after sitting in that TRAFFIC all day, I know that I'm only about 10 minutes away (6 on a good day) from home. You wouldn't believe how good that makes a sista feel. lol

Okay...i was REALLY ghetto with this one because I actually had the shoes on when i came to work..and decided that these indeed were my favorite pair...so i slipped it off...put it on top of my desk...and snapped the shot. I know my co-workers was like...WTH? Why is she taking a picture of her shoe. lol (fyi- I wear a size 6.5 if anyone wanna buy me a pair for me. lol)

Yes...i got braids... tree braids. I got them monday...so my head HUUUUURTTTTT!!! lol. I wish you could see the actual color better. They're like...auburn with blondish highlights. Really cute. lol. But yeah...the natural thang wasn't working with my workout schedule. lol. I was washing my hurrr (not hair...hurrr) everyday...sometimes twice a day. So...I had to do something. When I get these out...I'll take a pic of the natural do. :)

* Eating the burnt piece of toast and giving them the good one.
* Not wanting to speak to them but finding yourself dialing their number anyway.
* Going out on double dates with their lame/rude/stupid/boring friends.
* Getting so close to them that the only way you can be closer is to be in them.
* Apologizing first, even when it WAS their fault.
* Telling them that they have that morning crust in their eyes and offer to get it out.
* Wanting the best for them…even if it’s not you.
* Making them chicken soup though you’re sick too.
* Telling them you love them regardless of how they feel towards you.
* Comfortable
* Not caring if the toilet seat was up or down.
* Praying together
* Putting their name in every song about love
* Getting up a 3 in the morning to turn on the air/heater for them.
* Seeing the best looking woman/man on earth and not even wondering “what if”
* Accepting that they have crusty feet and chapped lips in the winter.

Just another Manic Monday
Hola amistades!
I wish I had more time to write. I 'm extremely busy today...and probably will be for the rest of the week. BUT...i wanted to check in and say hi to everyone...and to let you guys know i'm about 65% done with the picture project. lol. You guys are very imaginative. Anywho.... hopefully i'll write thursday or so. Until then........
oh yeah.. um... if there's anyone in the atlanta area who enjoys operas, I'm going to see La Boheme either thursday or sunday and would love for someone to join me...so hit me up either here or send me an email. (kaswayla@juno.com) Aight. Gone.

Matters of the Heart
Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess that I have not always been as careful as I should've been with my heart. From time to time, my desire for love has caused me to leave my heart in the wrong hands. I now commit my heart into Your hands for safekeeping. Please help me to stop being so impulsive with what you deem so precious. As I learn to celebrate Your love for me, let me learn from Your example what a bridegroom should really be like. Help me to never settle for less than what you desire for me. As I embrace You as the Lover of my soul, keep my affections in the haven of Your own heart. As I rest in Your love, make me more discriminating of those who approach me. I ask that You take over this area of my life. Keep me from those You know would hurt my heart. I invite You to set a hedge around me and keep me from all who would draw me into unfruitful relationships until the day you present me to the mate that You have selected for me. Grant me the discernment to recognize him as he recognizes me. Cleanse me from the temptation to typecast the men I meet according to what I see. Help me to trust in Your knowledge and lean not on my own understanding. I know that You know what is best for me; therefore I yield to Your choice.

I now commit my heart into Your hands for safekeeping. Please help me to stop being so impulsive with what you deem so precious. As I learn to celebrate Your love for me, let me learn from Your example what a bridegroom should really be like. Help me to never settle for less than what you desire for me. As I embrace You as the Lover of my soul, keep my affections in the haven of Your own heart. As I rest in Your love, make me more discriminating of those who approach me. I ask that You take over this area of my life. Keep me from those You know would hurt my heart. I invite You to set a hedge around me and keep me from all who would draw me into unfruitful relationships until the day you present me to the mate that You have selected for me. Grant me the discernment to recognize him as he recognizes me. Cleanse me from the temptation to typecast the men I meet according to what I see. Help me to trust in Your knowledge and lean not on my own understanding. I know that You know what is best for me; therefore I yield to Your choice.

I haven't forgot about ya'll.
I know i'm supposed to be taking pics...and i am. I am so excited that i got such a good response. You guys are great!! lol It is taking me longer than i thought though. Especially because of the setback i had this weekend. *smh*
I had soooooo many plans for this past weekend. But anyone in da "A "can contest that saturday was really NOT a good running around day. The ice storm made me a prisoner in my house. I couldn't get out of my drive way...and trust me i tried. Twice. *sigh* And then my power went out...so a girl was really not thinking about snapping pictures in the dark and the cold. lol. But now that all is back to normal, I will be trying to develop my non-existent photography skills. lol.
So don't think i forgot. I'm still working on it. Until then............
